Magdy Elsawy, MD, PhD | Board Certified
Dr. Elsawy did his undergraduate and medical studies at the Cairo University in Egypt. He completed his internship in 1981, and Master’s degree in Pathology at the Cairo University Hospitals where he also lectured in Pathology. He attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Public health where he received his PhD in molecular biology and worked on clinical trials on new modalities of AIDS treatments as well as other studies in the Infectious Disease and Microbiology Departments in the Graduate School of Public Health.
His residency in Internal Medicine was at the Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA and he completed his Fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. . Before moving to Des Moines, he was in private practice in Pennsylvania and Florida.
He has, and continues to participate in research clinical trials as well as publishing articles and lecturing to medical students. Dr. Elsawy is an adjunct Professor of Medicine for Des Moines University.
He has been in the Des Moines area since 1999, where he continues to see patients with cancer and blood related disorders.
Abdelaziz Elhaddad, MD | Board Certified
Dr. Elhaddad completed his undergraduate and medical studies at the Cairo University in Egypt. He completed his internship in 2009.
His residency in Internal Medicine was at Monmouth Medical Center, Drexel University College at Mount Sinai in New York City, and he completed his fellowship in 2015 at the Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital School of Medicine in New York City.
He moved to Des Moines and joined Hematology & Oncology Center of Iowa in July of 2015. He also lectures and is an adjunct Professor of Medicine for Des Moines University.
